Madrugada Charity Swim photos

Pledges to the value of 5,000 euros were raised on Sunday 23 May when Boavista Golf held its first ever sponsored swim at their Essential Fitness and Spa Health Club in Lagos.

36 swimmers of various ages and abilities took to the pool and swam as many lengths as they could in an effort to raise money for Madrugada, the charity set up to support people with life limiting illness. The children in particular were amazing, with some of them recording 130 lengths of the pool!

Prizes were awarded after the swim to the various age groups, which ranged from a weekend away in a Luz hotel to book tokens for the children.

The Pink Cadillacs played a fantastic concert in the afternoon and My Dynamics provided a bouncy castle for the children. A face painter was on hand to decorate faces. All the entertainment was donated free of charge and the management of Boavista laid on refreshments.

The organizer of the event, Yvonne Fisher, the swimming teacher at Boavista was thrilled at the amount raised and the turnout on the day, adding that following such a huge success, a repeat event next year was definitely possible!
